Funders and Partners
Funders
Glasgow City Council
Glasgow City Council was the primary funder
behind the Glasgow Advice and Information Network (GAIN) which is a
telephone advice service managed by Citizens Advice Direct. The
types of advice provided include welfare rights, housing, money and
associated legislation. The funded project is set to run until
2012.
Scottish Government
The Scottish Government provides
the core funding for Citizens Advice Direct, with funding
arrangements in place until March 2015. In the past few years this
funding has also enabled expansion of the service to cover all of
Scotland, include additional types of advice and new mechanisms for
obtaining the advice such as SMS, email and instant messaging.
Through this funding Citizens Advice Direct has grown
substantially.
The Big Lottery
The Big Lottery is another key organisation
which provides financial assistance to Citizens Advice Direct. The
Big Lottery provided funding in 2004 when Citizens Advice Direct
was first established and has gone on to commit to further funding
for the period 2008 - 2013.
Partners
Citizens Advice Direct is committed to providing accurate
support and advice to the citizens of Scotland. We aim to make this
advice giving process as quick and smooth as possible. In some
cases where there is another organisation better placed to give the
advice, our staff will refer citizens onto them. We work in
partnership with a large number of Scottish and National agencies
to ensure the referral process is seamless. Key partner
organisations include Citizens Advice Bureaux, Citizens Advice
Scotland and Citizens Advice England.
