Aims, Principles and Policies
Citizens Advice Direct asks that all workers support and implement the aims, principles and policies of the CAB service.
Citizens Advice Direct aims to:
- Provide accessible advice through a telephone-based service.
- Carry out social policy work locally and nationally by campaigning on social issues and giving feedback to government on the effects of social policies.
Citizens Advice Direct provides a service that is:

Free - the service to clients is provided free of charge.

Impartial - advisers give information and advice in a non-judgmental way.

Confidential - adviser’s will keep all that clients tell them confidential, only disclosing information with a client’s permission.

Independent - CABx are independent organisations that owe no allegiance to any government or political party.
Citizens Advice Direct is:
- Committed to ensuring that all services are equally available to all people, regardless of race, creed, disability, gender, age or sexual orientation.
- Committed to an equal opportunities policy and is striving to encourage participation of all people at all levels in the service
- Opposed to all forms of racism and discrimination and will resist and challenge acts of discrimination and give support to its clients and staff when confronted with discrimination or racial harassment.
