Current Projects
Following are some key telephone advice projects which Citizens
Advice Direct manages for a range of public and private sector
organisations.
Glasgow Advice and Information Network (GAIN)
Provision of a telephone advice service covering
issues including welfare rights, housing, money and associated
legislation. This project is set to run until 2012. The service is
provided from 12pm until 8pm, Monday to Friday and 10am until 2pm
on a Saturday.

Kinship Care
Kinship
Care is a Scottish Government funded project which delivers advice
to those carers who look after children officially on behalf of a
Local Authority. Citizens Advice Direct provides financial based
advice on behalf of Kinship, with common advice requests including
payments to carers, benefits assessments and the impact on benefits
claims.

Armed Service Advice Project
Armed Service Advice Project (ASAP) provides a range
of specialist advice services to the armed services community
including veterans, their carers' and families. Citizens Advice
Direct is responsible for providing telephone based advice on a
number of issues including finance, health, housing and personal
problems which are regularly faced by those in the military, now or
in the past.

Energy Assistance Package
Energy Saving Trust is
tasked with informing and supporting citizens in their efforts to
save energy and reduce carbon emissions. Energy Assistance Package
is a key Scottish based project launched to help citizens reduce
heating bills whilst making homes warmer and more energy efficient.
Advice is also provided around follow up services available such as
home improvements and grants towards central heating. Citizens
Advice Direct advisers explain options available to citizens and
work against a set of criteria to advise on whether they are
eligible.
